Always wanted a pen pal? Join Ritter Public Library’s “Friends with Pens” program to be paired with a pen pal in Ireland! We are partnering with Kilkenny County Council Library Service for this exciting initiative. Must be 18 or older to participate.

How it works:
- Complete the online form (linked to the button above) to register for the program by August 16th. You'll be paired with a pen pal based on your age and interests by August 31st.
- Pick up your starter kit with pre-addressed envelopes and stationery, then write and send your first letter by September 3rd.
- Wait for your return letter! Please note that letters will be received at Ritter Public Library, in order to protect the privacy of participant addresses. We'll email you when your letter arrives at the library for you to pick up.
- Continue corresponding - we will coordinate 3 letters each between you and your pen pal through the program's end date of December 13th.
- Want to continue on? Participants who wish to continue corresponding after the program's end will be responsible for sharing contact information and coordinating details on their own.
